Given the fact that James Hyde was no stranger to daytime, having had roles on As the World Turns as Liam and Another World as Neil, plus, he was most recognized for playing Sam on Passions, his fans were ecstatic when he joined The Young and the Restless as baddie Jeremy Stark. However, his daytime comeback didn’t even last a year and though it’s always bittersweet when a villain exits a soap, we usually get to see the stars again via various other projects. Well, that’s about to be the case for James Hyde — and we couldn’t be more excited!
The former CBS soap actor recently took to social media to not only tease an upcoming role but he shared a photo from behind the scenes of his new project.
“On the set of a new show,” Hyde teased. “Will announce when it gets close to air date.”
Fans rushed into the comments to share their excitement as well and so did one of his past Genoa City castmates… Michelle Stafford (Phyllis) threw up four high-five emojis to show her support for Hyde’s mysterious new role.
For those who don’t recall, it was Stafford’s character who took Jeremy out for good. It all started when he and Phyllis teamed up to get revenge on Diane — for numerous reasons — and faked her death in order to pin it on Diane. However, when Phyllis began to have second thoughts about their plan, Jeremy threatened to kill her — and went so far as to try to stab her with a pair of scissors. In the end, during a struggle, Phyllis stabbed Jeremy then threw his body in the river, to which Chance discovered later.
While we wait to see where Hyde’s next character will turn up, and though his Genoa City persona is likely dead, dead for good, view our gallery below filled with some of daytime’s biggest back-from-the-dead storylines.
