7 Little Johnstons: Did Trent Johnston Put Baby Leighton’s Life At Risk?
7 Little Johnstons fans were thrilled to finally see Liz Johnston and Brice Bolden’s baby Leighton on screen. There was much speculation regarding whether TLC would show the newborn in their season finale or end the series on a cliffhanger. Much to fans’ delight, the baby appeared in the season finale, warming the hearts of viewers.
The finale was filled with adorable moments as the family met the baby for the first time in the hospital. Amber and Trent both left baby Leighton in their arms, confessing to the overwhelming realization of finally becoming grandparents. Amidst the emotional scenes, fans noticed a significant detail that left them upset and concerned about the baby. So, what happened to baby Leighton? Let’s find out.
7 Little Johnstons: Fans Upset As Trent Johnston Puts Baby Leighton’s Life In Danger!
The last season of 7 Little Johnstons was undoubtedly all about Liz and her baby. The network focused so much on Liz that her siblings felt like side characters. The season highlighted Liz’s initial breakup with Brice and their reconciliation after she got pregnant. The couple then moved into the Johnston house to prepare for and raise their baby. While fans had mixed feelings about this, a new issue recently upset them.
In the Season 14 finale, the entire family, including Trent, was in the hospital room with Liz and her newborn, Leighton. This detail alarmed fans because Trent had a cold sore and kissed the newborn baby. Not only is this hygienic, but it also puts Leighton’s life at risk. Newborns are vulnerable to infections like HSV (Herpes Simplex Virus), which is fatal since their immune systems don’t fully develop at that stage.
7 Little Johnstons fans criticized both Trent and the nurse who allowed him into the room. “Did anyone else notice that Trent kissed that brand new baby with a cold sore on his lip? Made me so mad. Don’t kiss newborn babies, but especially if you have a damn cold sore,” a fan wrote. “I’m surprised the hospital staff even let him into the maternity ward with a cold sore. Exposing a newborn to a cold sore (herpes simplex virus) can be extremely dangerous,” another pointed out.
7 Little Johnstons: Fans Are Bored With Baby Leighton Content Now?
Season 14 of 7 Little Johnstons focused heavily on Liz and her baby, leaving little room for updates about her siblings Anna, Alex, and Emma. Fans felt that the content revolving around Liz and her baby was dragged out, overshadowing the other siblings’ lives. While fans don’t exactly hate Liz and her baby’s content
, they do feel that other siblings also have interesting lives that could’ve been a part of the season.
Expressing their frustration online, one fan wrote, “I am so sick of hearing about Leighton…SOOOO over it. There are 4 other kids to follow, I wanna hear more about their lives! Not about how Elizabeth got knocked up by her slow “ex” boyfriend.” Another viewer commented, “That last episode could almost be a drinking game, like take a shot for every time Liz says the babies coming in two days.
I know a lot of that has to do with editing, but it just got overbearing. I can’t wait for her to say, Bryce and I’s baby.” With such reactions, it would be interesting to see what TLC has planned for the next season of 7 Little Johnstons.
