Gold Rush’ Returns with a New Episode: Discovering Untold Gold Stories on Screen!
Gold Miners Rick Ness, Parker Schnabel and Tony Beets are back for season 15 in Discovery Channel’s hit series “Gold Rush.” The miners know that big risks can lead to big rewards as the miners pursue their dreams of striking it rich in the wilderness.
For those who have cut the traditional cable cord, viewers can stream episodes live on streaming services Philo or DirecTV Stream. Both of these offer free trials to new subscribers.
According to a press release for the new season, “This season, the miners will face unforeseen changes and immense challenges before they can cash in on all-time high gold prices. One miner will falter, threatening to destroy everything that they worked for.”
What to expect on tonight’s episode: Rick Ness considers whether to keep mining after devastating news; Parker’s crew splits an excavator in half attempting a risky fix; Kevin Beets turns to one of dad Tony’s rivals for help.
What is “Gold Rush” about?
Although the state’s mention in the title was dropped after the first season, Alaska still plays a major role in Discovery Channel’s top-rated show. It follows gold miners, inexperienced as some may be, hoping to strike it rich in the wilds of The Last Frontier and beyond. It began with a crew led by Todd Hoffman and his father, Jack, who sunk $250,000 into their dream and came away with just $20,000 worth of gold. Some dismal summers followed, filled with injuries, malfunctioning equipment and constant fighting among the greenhorn miners, yet serious cases of gold fever always trumped any talk of giving up and led to dreams being salvaged. The series now keeps tabs on the efforts of such miners as brash youngster Parker Schnabel and longtime Yukon resident Tony Beets, as the quest to hit the mother lode at separate sites never stops.
