On the Heels of Chad Duell’s General Hospital Exit, Laura Wright Addresses Her Status With the Soap

The internet is filled with rumors and when it comes to the soap stars, they are often at the center of some. The latest gossip happened to involve General Hospital’s Laura Wright (Carly) and one fan received an answer as to whether or not two reports were true — straight from the actress herself.

A fan, Linda E. Johnson, reached out to the ABC soap vet via X to ask, “Is it true you’re getting married and leaving the show for a while? If so, you will come back, won’t you?” Wright, who has debunked various rumors in the past, replied to clear up the situation and stated, “Nope, not true at all.”

Considering the show just lost Chad Duell, who played her onscreen son Michael, fans were happy to hear that the rumor was just that, a rumor. “Getting married is OK, but no, no, no, you can’t leave our GH family,” added another fan, Cindy Roe Cartwright. “Hey I know, Wes [Ramsey, ex-Peter] can come back to GH and have a wedding with all of us but first you have to woo Jack Brennan. Any [way], thank goodness you’re not leaving us.”

And while they may not be tying the knot anytime soon, at least the actress frequently gives her followers a glimpse into her adventures with Ramsey. Last October, Wright shared a couple of photos to mark her “handsome fella’s” birthday and expressed, “Oh I’m so, so grateful you were born. Life with you is a beautiful adventure! Happy, Happy Birthday, baby,” to which he replied, “Love you, baby. Thank you for another awesome day in this best life game!”
