Is the Duggar family really breaking tradition to celebrate Halloween this year? A shocking secret has just been revealed!
As TV Shows Ace reports, Jill Duggar Dillard recently shared about her family’s fall traditions. She revealed that she and Derick Dillard love reading fall books with their kids, Israel, 5, and Samuel, 3. In the photo she shared, Derick is reading a book to Samuel. They will also be heading to the pumpkin patch soon.
In addition to enjoying the fall activities mentioned, Jill and Derick also set up a campsite in their backyard for their family to enjoy. It’s unclear whether this will be added to their fall traditions. Nonetheless, the family seems to be loving the fall weather and fun times.
Since Jill’s new post sparked a conversation about fall, fans began wondering whether her family celebrates Halloween. Fans may know that Jill and Derick seem to be breaking away from some of her family’s strict beliefs. While she and Derick still appear to be Christians, they do not adhere to all of the same guidelines that her family does. For example, Jill recently revealed that she is using non-hormonal birth control. She also wears pants instead of skirts and has her nose pierced. Fans applaud Jill for doing her own thing and figuring out who she is.
Jill herself has not answered any questions about the family’s beliefs about Halloween.
Do the Duggars celebrate Halloween?
With Halloween right around the corner, fans are naturally going to continue asking about the family’s Halloween plans.
In her blog, Michelle Duggar wrote, “While we do go to pumpkin patches and corn mazes, we don’t do the Halloween thing. From the beginning of our marriage, we just kind of felt like we didn’t want to celebrate that holiday. But we enjoy the harvest celebration. Our church fellowship has had different celebrations through the years that we’ve been a part of, ones where the children can play games and receive candy and toys and do all kinds of fun things, like a cake walk.”
So far, it seems like all of her grown children are sticking to those same standards. But, Jill and Derick are doing things a little bit differently.
