Season 20 of Deadliest Catch is already one for the record books, but not simply because it’s the 20th season. Viewers were surprised to learn that Jake Anderson had lost his boat, the Saga, due to unforeseen reasons that are still legally being handled. His loss has become Captain Sig Hansen‘s gain, as he extended a hand to help Jake in his time of need. With Jake losing his boat and having to deal with taking orders again, it’s clear that Season 20 has choppy waters ahead.

With the Saga’s fate up in the air, there are plenty of other ships and crews returning this season. Captain Greg Wallace is at the helm of the Seabrooke, and he also has someone he’ll be mentoring this season in addition to that. Sophia “Bob” Nielson is the youngest captain on the team. After facing a whole host of issues on her own boat, she was led to seek mentorship to better her skills. The boat has its crew ready to fish, but who are the owners of the Seabrooke?

Who owns the Seabrooke on ‘Deadliest Catch?’

Reddit detectives were curious about the ownership of the Seabrooke, and some of them were able to find the correct answer. The Seabrooke was sold in 2023 to a company, and the official owner is listed as Votja Novak. According to his LinkedIn, Votja purchased the Seabrooke alongside another boat, the Incentive, and he is the fleet manager of Silverbay Foods.

The captain of the Seabrooke, however, is the most important person. He may not be the owner, but Captain Greg is the new boss of the Seabrooke.

Who owned the Seabrooke prior to the official change of ownership in 2023?

The previous owner of the Seabrooke was Captain Scott Campbell Jr. Scott was a captain featured on Deadliest Catch during seasons seven through ten. His time on the series was marked by his numerous back problems, and they continued to worsen as time progressed. After discovering a slipped disc in his spine, Scott made the right decision to retire from fishing. In the time since leaving the series, not only has Scott sold the boat; he’s also started his own successful cooler company.

Bob Nielson’s presence on the Seabrooke has already created conflict.

While Bob is under Greg’s tutelage, his own daughter, Megan Wallace, has some strong feelings about the situation. Megan works as a deckhand on the Seabrooke, and she also went to school with Bob. Feeling that she and Bob come from similar backgrounds, she felt that Bob was receiving unfair treatment, and from her own father at that. Bob, who lost her own father when she was young, empathized with Megan’s feelings, taking her standoffish attitude toward her in stride.
