Wild Bill’s cancer update
Well wishes and prayers are being sent Wild Bill’s way this summer as fans see him battling cancer during Deadliest Catch season 20.
The Summer Bay captain leaves his ship behind and heads back home to “go under the knife.”
Bill has to leave the crabbing season as he requires surgery to remove cancer from his body.
He says: “I’d like to get rid of the cancer and continue to go on with life… they actually plant a piece of radioactive material in each spot so it destroys it.”
Bill left the 2023 fall season for “urgent treatment of adenocarcinoma of the prostate.”
He left the Summer Bay in the hands of Landon Cheney, 35. Speaking of the decision, he tells the cameras: “I couldn’t have Landon be much more ready to do this… I think he’s ready, I guess we’ll see how it goes.”
