Jake Anderson Faces the Challenge: The $750,000 Crab Hunt After a Heart-Wrenching Loss

Despite any setbacks, Jake proves he still has what it takes by hauling $750,000 worth of crab from the ocean. The Discovery Channel star had his lifelong boat, The F/V Saga, ripped away from him. But, now, it seems he’s getting to grips with life on the Titan Explorer.

Deadliest Catch waved goodbye to The Saga

From Deadliest Catch seasons 11 to 19, Jake Anderson took the helm of the F/V Saga.

Sadly, the boat was torn away from him, and he now has a new boat in season 20.

Jake said he lost the Saga due to “financial reasons.”

“Before I was getting ready to go red crab fishing, I found out my partner, with all due respect to legal things going on, we don’t know what he did,” he told TV Insider.

Discovery star’s $750k crab hunt

During Deadliest Catch season 20, Jake hops off the Northwestern with Sig and heads over to take over his new ship, the Titan Explorer.

He says he’s “done it all” in his career” including being a deckhand, and an engineer. But now is his time to start over as the captain of a new boat.

The Titan Explorer reaches 125ft in length. It has twice the carrying capacity and double the speed of Jake’s old boat.

Enjoying the “new toys” aboard his ship, Jake heads out to haul $750k worth of red crab.

The season gets off to a great start for Jake. His team hauls more and more crab from the ocean. He didn’t want to get “too excited” but celebrates with the crew members as they bring more pots onto the boat.

Jake says: “I put the pedal to the metal, and it’s paying off over here. I’m back!”
