Johnny Tears Into EJ Over His Horrifying Conception, While Jada and Rafe Start Putting Clues Together

On today’s Days of Our Lives, we pick up from Friday, with EJ apologizing to Chanel just before Johnny walks in and punches him in the face. “You son of a bitch. I know what you did.” EJ tries defending himself, but Johnny makes it clear this isn’t about Arnold, it’s about EJ. He tells his dad what Kate told him about his conception, as EJ sits slowly down.
Chanel visibly flinches when Johnny gets to the part where EJ forced Sami to sleep with him to save Lucas’ life. EJ tries calming his son down, and assures him both he and Sami moved past it. Johnny, though, goes into details, talking about how traumatized his mom must have been, while EJ probably enjoyed the power and control over her the entire time.
“Kate had no right to tell you any of this.” EJ insists Johnny didn’t need to know this, but Johnny sneers at him, “The only reason that I exist is because my father raped my mother.” Chanel’s mouth drops open in horror. His mom was called a slut for having twins with two different fathers, and it was all because of EJ.
“So everyone in your family knew about this?” Chanel asks cautiously. No. The ones who did all made a pact not to say anything. “I am a lie. I didn’t come from love.” EJ tries saying there was a spark between them Sami didn’t acknowledge — “So it’s her fault?!” Johnny demands — then he says that Stefano pushed him to do it, needing a grandchild’s stem cells to save him as he was dying. Johnny shouts at his dad for not taking responsibility, who tearfully tells him he’s just trying to make him understand.
EJ makes clear that he’s not blaming anyone but himself and Johnny calls him depraved, saying he was never wanted. Just his stem cells. He wishes he could just run away anywhere to get away, but he can never get away from what he is now. EJ’s tried controlling him his whole life. That’s over. EJ will never go near his grandchild, the DiMera legacy will never be a part of his kid’s life.
EJ insists he’s not the same man anymore. A part of him has always regretted what happened, but he wouldn’t have had Johnny otherwise, and EJ loves him more than anything. He begs for forgiveness, but Johnny is done with him. “Get out of here. Go!” EJ quietly walks out, closing the door behind him.
Chanel walks over to her husband to comfort him, but Johnny’s just feeling lost. “I hate him, Chanel. I swear to God, if I had a gun right now, I’d kill him.” Out in the hall, EJ makes it to the stairs, then drops down, sobbing.
Paulina Makes Things Right With Jada
Paulina hangs up with Belle after being told her DA needs to recuse herself from EJ’s case. Jada and Rafe walk over, happy together, until Paulina tells them about Belle. Jada’s not surprised. She then apologizes for messing up the adoption after Paulina explains what happened with the family meeting.
Paulina tells her not to worry about it, then reinstates Jada as commissioner. Since the imposter made the accusations, she’s comfortable putting things back as they were. Jada and Rafe celebrate, then puzzle through how to get EJ. Jada suggests talking to Ava, since she claims EJ was involved in her own kidnapping. What if Rachel Blake convinced EJ to go along with the kidnapping because she threatened to tell someone Rafe was at Aremid?
She suggests they go to Aremid.
Melinda Has a Present for Ava
Melinda sits down in the Bistro for a martini, and Ava tries throwing her out, since she’s Kristen’s lawyer. Ava relents, though, once Melinda suggests they both made devil’s bargains to get their jobs. Ava gets a martini for Melinda, who asks what happened to her hand. Ava sits down and fills the former DA in on all the drama. Rachel Blake is still out there and Ava has no protection from her.
Melinda says nothing, reaches into her purse and puts a gun, wrapped in a napkin on the table. “Take this.” It’s Melinda’s gun, after Connie kidnapped her, but Ava needs it more than she does right now.
Kristen Finds Her Mom — Again
Rachel Blake sneaks into the Blake house attic and starts rummaging through a trunk looking for… a gun. Kristen rushes upstairs, having run around, worried over where her mom vanished to this time. Rachel tries hiding the gun, but Kristen forces her mom to show it. “Mother… What are you doing with the gun?”
Rachel just says maybe Ava tries to hurt her, and she’s forced to kill her in self defense… Kristen tells her to drop the plotting to get Brady and takes the gun from her mom. Jada and Rafe pop up, demanding answers. She wants to know if they know anything about EJ holding Rafe at the house.
Belle and Brady Catch Up
Belle’s thinking of throwing EJ out when Brady and Rachel get home. He convinced Kristen to let him bring Rachel there since her unhinged grandma is at the DiMera mansion. He catches Belle up to speed with Rachel Blake’s latest wacky, murderous antics. Belle assures her brother that putting his daughter first is the right thing, but he’s pretty sure it ruined things with Ava.
The only silver lining might be EJ getting locked up for what he did to Rafe. Belle breaks the news that she won’t be the one prosecuting him. Brady asks why, and she sheepishly admits they slept together again. She can’t stop — that’s called addiction, Brady says, then cracks a joke about her needing DiMera Anonymous.
Rachel comes back after brushing her teeth, wanting Grandpa John to read Charlie and the Chocolate Factory before bed, but Belle offers to read it instead. They sit together on the couch for storytime.
Jada and Rafe Vow to Get Answers
In the show’s final moments, Ava tells Melinda she can’t purchase a gun, but thanks her and says she’ll get it back to her. Melinda raises her glass as Ava walks off to slip it in her purse.
Jada pushes for an answer, but Kristen tells the commissioner and Rafe to leave. “We have nothing to say to you.” Jada says someone is going down for what happened to Rafe. She just wants EJ, but if Rachel isn’t careful, she’ll return with a search and arrest warrant. The Blakes leave and Jada and Rafe both know they know more than they’re letting on.
