Just because General Hospital dealt rookie cop Dex Heller a death sentence doesn’t mean that portrayer Evan Hofer is ready to bury his career in daytime. On the contrary, in an exclusive interview with Soaps.com, he says that he’s perfectly willing to lather up again. “You know, I think if it’s the the right story and the right character, I’m pretty happy with whatever medium.
“I’ve loved my time on the soaps,” he adds. “I mean, how lucky am I to be doing something I love? What a privilege, and that’s not lost on me.”
The grueling pace of daytime can get to some actors. But Hofer didn’t just rise to the challenge that it presented, he welcomed it. “The schedule can be exhausting when you’re in heavy rotation,” he admits, “but I love that! I love nothing more than working all the time.
“I’m a workaholic,” he continues. So if you give him “50 pages of dialogue, five days a week? I’m in!”
As it just so happens, there are a number of plum parts available on The Young and the Restless, The Bold and the Beautiful and Days of Our Lives for which Hofer would be perfect.
