Jinger Duggar Shocked With Confession: Childhood Christmas Was A Nightmare Untold Story

Jinger Duggar revealed a tragic childhood Christmas memory via her Instagram Stories over the weekend. Just what was this tragic memory? Moreover, what did fans of the disgraced TLC family have to say about the memory? Keep reading for the details.

Jinger Duggar Shares Tragic Childhood Christmas Memory

Feeling a little like an open book, Jinger Duggar hosted a Q&A on her Instagram Stories over the weekend. During the Q&A, one of her fans asked her to dive into her childhood. They wanted her to share one of her favorite Christmas memories. Now, the OP did not necessarily say the memory had to date back to Jinger’s childhood. That, however, was what she ended up sharing.

She penned in response: “One Christmas my parents gave each of us a decent-sized plastic container full of candy…and topped it with a new toothbrush and toothpaste!”

The story took a heartbreaking turn when she revealed that she still had that candy container until recently. Sadly, she had to throw it away not too long ago because it finally broke.

“I saved the container until it broke last year…it was that memorable!”

Fans Thought The Whole Story Was Depressing

Understandably, Duggar fans agreed it was depressing that something memorable from her childhood got thrown away because it broke. They, however, found the story sad for other reasons as well. Fans admit the real tragedy of the story is the story itself. These fans couldn’t believe that with all of Jim Bob Duggar’s TLC money, he could not be bothered to get his children a decent Christmas.

Here’s what some fans had to say in response on Reddit:

  • “To be honest I find her favorite Christmas memory kind of sad. I realize finding it sad comes from an initial position of enormous privilege but I can’t imagine the best Christmas gift I ever got being a bucket of candy.”
  • “If that was her best gift/memory I can only imagine how all the other years went.”
  • “I wouldn’t be surprised if they had the money for gifts but just wouldn’t spent it. I could see this gift being given around the time they were living in the 3 bedroom house and Jim Bob spent $200k trying to run for US Senate.”
  • “her favorite memory (not gift) was a generic gift that was just candy. It wasn’t a personalized gift to her. It wasn’t a fancy gift. It was an easy, cheap gift”

Now, fans recognize it may be a bit spoiled to consider a container of candy and some toothpaste to be a depressing gift. It, however, didn’t stop fans from being heartbroken that this was the most memorable moment she could remember from her Christmas past.

Furthermore, fans speculated her parents likely had the moment for Christmas presents. They, however, didn’t think gifts for their children were important enough to spend the money on them.
