Horrifying: Deadliest Catch Captain Collapses, Left Side Goes Numb, Breaks Down in Critical Condition!
Deadliest Catch Captain Keith Colburn suffers a medical emergency during season 20. The longtime Discovery Channel star falls to the ground during one episode and afterward tells his brother he’s “scared” as he “can’t feel his left side.”
Monte ‘Mouse’ Colburn and Keith are at the helm of the F/V Wizard during season 20. The brothers butt heads during episode 15. Their argument gets so heated that Keith collapses in the wheelhouse leaving Mouse extremely concerned. As if the treacherous weather conditions and technical hurdles aren’t enough for the crew to battle, the Colburn brothers panic over a medical emergency.
Deadliest Catch’s Captain Keith collapses
After Captain Keith and his brother Mouse end up in a fight over the management of the Wizard, the Deadliest Catch star suffers a medical emergency.
While Keith is the F/V Wizard’s captain, Monte is the ‘Relief Captain’ aboard the boat during episode 15.
The brothers enjoy some playful bickering at the beginning of the episode, but things quickly take a dire turn after they have a heated argument.
He airs his frustrations to the cameras: “My brother and his hair-brained scheme to go west of Saint Paul burned $30,000 dollars worth of fuel in the process, to go home with nothing, absolutely nothing.”
Captain Keith’s aim was to “keep these guys safe” as his crew took on some challenging weather conditions, but it turned out it was him who had producers “scared” later in the show.
‘Scared’ Keith’s ‘left side is numb’
Later in episode 16, Keith tells Mouse through tears: “My left side’s f***ing numb…”
He adds he’s “totally serious” when he says he “can’t feel his arm.”
Producers explain they’re “sacred” during the show as one says: “I’m shooting and he does not look good.”
Another adds how Keith is “hanging on by a thread.”
As Keith rests on deck, Mouse gets back in the captain’s seat and says: “Alright, I’m not sure what we’re doing. We’ve got some sort of medical thing going on now.”
During the medical emergency, a nurse urges Monte to get his brother to the ER over the phone so that he can be checked over and “run tests.”
Since filming Deadliest Catch season 20, Captain Keith has been taking to Instagram, so fans can assume he recovered from the medical emergency.
