The Obvious Reasons B&B ‘Killed Off’ Sheila and Plan to Resurrect Her
Nothing drives a daytime drama better than a truly loathed villain, a diabolical evildoer who stirs the action and turmoil. But in the quest to keep that character alive and thriving, some clever decisions have to be made. Such was the case when The Bold and the Beautiful “killed off” Sheila Carter. Let’s take a look at the obvious reasons behind the move, and the show’s plan to resurrect her.
The Awakening
First and foremost, “Sheila’s demise” at the hands of his wife, Steffy (Jacqueline MacInnes Wood), stirred something in Finn (Tanner Novlan). He always felt a pull toward his biological mother, but her death really put him in touch with his unacknowledged feelings for her. Despite the fact that Sheila (Kimberlin Brown) tried to kill both him and Steffy, her passing awakened Finn’s innate love for her. Now that that love’s risen to the surface, it won’t ever be pushed back down.
Finn’s bound to be overjoyed once Sheila is discovered alive, and that won’t bode well for his marriage to Steffy. Although she’s been sympathetic toward Finn mourning his dead mom, she definitely won’t be open to him rejoicing in her resurrection or forging any kind of relationship with her, and that’s going to cause massive problems in their marriage.
Here Comes the Bride?
Sheila’s “death” also made Deacon (Sean Kanan) realize the depths of his love for his secret fiance. Remember, Deacon insisted they keep their engagement hush-hush because he was concerned about Hope’s (Annika Noelle) reaction and feared she’d turn her back on him. But having almost lost Sheila, Deacon’s bound to have a change of heart and a new throw-caution-to-the-wind attitude about their relationship.
It could have him professing his love and devotion to her from the rooftops. After thinking he lost his chance at a happily-ever-after with Sheila, he might actually be ready to take the plunge and make her his wife. And it could pave the way for the previously unthinkable: a Deacon-Sheila wedding
Road to Redemption
Whatever Sheila’s been through will very likely have a deep effect on her too. After all, she’s been separated from the man she loves and the new life she was creating for weeks. And before she was discovered “dead”, Sheila had already begun walking the straight and narrow. She had a job, was living a quiet life with Deacon, and was keeping her distance from Finn and Steffy.
What if she emerges from this whole ordeal a truly changed woman, a woman more committed than ever to being a kinder, gentler, and totally sane Sheila Carter? It could put her on the path toward redemption, something viewers likely never ever saw happening.
