Back when Alex first crossed paths with Stephanie in Salem, it was love at first sight on his end.
Stephanie was the one who ultimately convinced Alex to turn from his playboy ways and start rethinking his perspective on relationships.
Of course, things fell apart for Stephanie and Alex, which led to plenty of obstacles on this long and winding road to a reunion.
Now that Alex and Stephanie have recommitted as a couple, we can’t help but wonder why Days is even bothering!
Was anyone really clamoring for Stephanie and Alex to be paired up again?
Alex and Stephanie arguably don’t bring much chemistry to the table, so it’s hard to understand why they’re being treated like some long-awaited golden duo.
With a story like this, viewers should be celebrating and breathing a sigh of relief over some sizzling ex-lovers finally finding their way back to each other.
None of that’s happening here since Stephanie and Alex just don’t bring the heat or even that much personality between the two of them.
It seems like Days would’ve been better off going in a new direction instead of putting Alex and Stephanie back in a boring pairing that didn’t really work before.
It’s tough to imagine it’ll be any different this time around.
Stephanie’s other love interests – namely Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn), Everett Lynch (Blake Berris) and Philip Kiriakis (John-Paul Lavoisier) – obviously didn’t work all that well either.
However, we have to believe Stephanie’s perfect match is out there somewhere.
As for Alex, some Days fans feel like maybe it was a mistake for him to choose Stephanie over Joy Wesley (AlexAnn Hopkins).
Joy and Alex had an intriguing spark that might’ve been pursuing, but Stephanie is the one Alex wants instead.
Sadly, that means we’re locked into watching Alex and Stephanie settle back into their romance – at least for now.
