Brace yourselves for a bit of a history lesson, because it looks Days of Our Lives is about to give us a major blast from the past! It looks like the Woman In White is going to be making her big return at the end of the week! Or at least, a Woman In White.
Roslyn Gentle will be playing the role in scenes with the missing Rachel Black starting on Friday, January 24th. Gentle teased her Salem debut on Instagram, writing, “Entering the [Days of Our Lives] world, but who am I? Watch and see… Coming January 24th.”
Stacy Haiduk (Kristen) happily greeted her with an enthusiastic, “Welcome!!” And if Gentle is playing who we think she is, that would make her Kristen’s mother and Rachel’s grandmother! (And namesake.)
We first met Kristen and Peter’s mother, Rachel Blake, 30 years ago as the “Woman In White,” played at the time by Pat Delany. The Blake siblings’ mother hid her face behind a white veil, as she’d been disfigured in an explosion caused by Stefano years before and driven mad by him holding her in captivity. She eventually escaped and haunted her hometown of Aremid until Stefano, Marlena, John, Peter, Jennifer and Kristen all showed up, discovered who she was and took her back to Salem to recover.
That’s an extremely abbreviated version of a truly tragic, twisted tale, but it all came crashing to an end when she confronted Stefano in the Paris Underground, shot at a gas tank nearby and blew them both to Kingdom Come. Of course, Stefano survived, so it wouldn’t be too much of a surprise to find out that Rachel did as well.

This news, of course, comes hot off the heels of us learning that Michael Dietz had been hired for a mysterious role on Days of Our Lives as well. At the time, we speculated on a couple of people he could be playing, including Kristen’s brother, Peter, who we haven’t seen since 1998. And that now seems even more likely because we are getting their mother, Peter would round out the Blake family and finally bring them all back to our screens once again.
