It’s always hard to say goodbye to a pet and not too long ago, The Young and the Restless’ Michael Graziadei (Daniel) and his family had to do just that. However, sometimes the best way to honor the furbabies we miss dearly is by welcoming a new member into the family — not to replace the one we lost but to continue spreading the love like we know they’d want us to.

“A couple months ago we had to say goodbye to our best boi Mr. Pancakes… his passing left a hole in our hearts,” Graziadei stated then went on to announce, “Recently we decided to extend our love to this little fluff ball and welcome him into our hearts and home.”

Along with the message, the CBS soap actor posted the most adorable pic holding the family’s latest addition and shared, “Please join me in welcoming Dr. Rupert Eldon Snarf to the family. He likes treats, naps, playing with his sister Fudge and tormenting our Pitt bull Marilyn.”

Just look at that teeny tiny face and how the little pup appears to be smiling while nestled ever-so close to his new daddy!

Of the sweet pup he had to say goodbye to, last December Graziadei shared 10 photos of Mr. Pancakes, who he called “the yappiest, happiest dog in the world.” Though there weren’t enough words to express just how much they loved him, the actor talked about how Mr. Pancakes was “the epitome of love” and how he would be there if you were having a rough day. “To lick your tears, to bring you a toy, or to simply sit next to you for as long as you needed.”

We are so happy that Graziadei and his family opened their hearts once again and we can bet that Dr. Rupert Eldon Snarf will bring them much joy and love.
